Since 2017 our Director of Sustainability has been attending round table sessions with the city council six times per year. Advocacy is an important role for companies wanting to contribute locally to making their community a better place. The role means advising the council on a wide range of existing and emerging environmental issues and trends. Recently, the City of Coquitlam staff and committee members have been working hard together on the Climate Adaption Strategy. 

Further advocacy is needed from our company at the provincial and federal levels, and this year we intend to figure out what that might look like. Our concerns surround issues such as standardized packaging recycling symbols and packaging types, alongside environmental protection. Associated is cranking up its efforts in making a better place for us all, we encourage other companies to use their influence and reach to do good!
