We're ringing in the new year with some new staff spotlights!

This month it's Tiffany Dougall, our Sales Assistant Supervisor.

1) How long have you worked at Associated?

This September, it will be 13 years!

2) Describe your journey at Associated so far.

I've sat in so many different places! I started in reception, and from there moved to the art department as a proof-reader/coordinator, and then to customer service. After that, I moved back to the art department, and in 2010 moved again to the sales department as a sales assistant to one of our reps. In 2017, I was promoted to Sales Assistant Supervisor, and that’s where I am today!

3) How would you describe the work environment?

I would say fun, challenging, and rewarding… there are so many ways to describe our ALP family. Maybe that’s the best word – family! We’re all so close and have so many employees who have been here for so long.

4) What is your favourite thing about working here?

The people, for sure! I also love the challenge that this job brings; you learn something new every day.

5) What's been your best day at work so far?

There have been so many! Being part of the social committee over the past years has been a big component, as we have planned some really great events.

6) What are you most proud of since working here?

The knowledge I have gained.

7) What is the biggest challenge you've had since working here?

Maybe this ties in with an earlier question but being part of the social committee has been a challenge as well. We have such a big team, so trying to plan events that accommodate everyone can be difficult as everyone enjoys different activities!

8) Do you have a particular moment or memory at Associated that stands out for you?

There have been so many, but one really stands out... the time I set off the smoke alarms and evacuated the entire building when I burned my toast. So embarrassing!

9) What does a typical day look like for you, and what are you currently working on?

I start my day by checking in on all of my current orders or client requests. Then I meet with the team for a daily check-in regarding workloads. I check quotes, dockets, train team members and handle client requests throughout the day.

A big project I’m currently working on is testing and collaborating on upgrades to our current ERP system.

10) Describe the advancement opportunities here.

They are endless! You just have to show your desire to learn and grow.

11) How does Associated support professional development?

They always offer training when needed or wanted! Whether it is on the job training, cross-departmental training or outside courses. We have a great management team who is always there for support and always looking to advance our employees and focus on growth. This ties into that family feeling too, they really want the best for the team.

12) What is on your wish list for the next 5 years?

Professionally, I want to learn more about the research and development side of our company. I am always fascinated by the “how” and “why” things work. I’d loved to get involved in testing new capabilities, innovating new products, and documenting the outcomes.

13) Given a chance, who would you be for a day?

I honestly would never want to be anyone else but just me!
