2020 review

We're starting the new year on a positive note by looking back at some of our highlights from 2020!

Our Highest IFS Score Yet

With almost four years of IFS PACsecure certification under our belt, we were proud to get our highest score yet in our 2020 audit! We scored 96.5%, after scoring 95% in 2019 and 93% in 2018. This wouldn’t be possible without our incredible team’s diligence and hard work in adhering to the rigorous standards that IFS entails. In a year when food safety was at the forefront of consumer’s minds, this achievement means so much to our staff and our customers.

New Equipment & Capabilities

Our newest piece of equipment arrived in May: the Hudson Sharp Ares 400-SUP! This is our second pouching machine, which helps to reduce lead time on pouches or bags and offer new capabilities for our customers. The most significant benefit of the Ares 400-SUP is that we can produce recyclable pouches after months of testing! This has been a massive achievement in working toward creating more sustainable packaging options for our customers.

Another new offering came from our lidding film team, who are always looking to push the boundaries in innovation! In time for the virtual PMA Fresh Summit show in October, the team created peel, pop, and reseal lidding film: currently, the only two-step security system in the market!

40 Years of ALP

On July 1st, Associated Labels and Packaging turned 40 years old! Although we weren’t able to celebrate how we had envisioned, we were still excited to reflect on our journey over the last 40 years and appreciate this milestone as a company. We’re still looking forward to a delayed celebration whenever we can throw one safely!

ALP Website 2.0

After a major upgrade last year, we made even more changes to our website this year! We added a section for our equipment offerings, curated pages for each industry we serve, more information about our history, our team, and so much more!

Pushing Through the Pandemic

Although 2020 was a difficult year that brought many challenges, the way our team pulled together and adapted, working through the year as an essential service, has been incredible. From the constant restrictions and changes to adapting to virtual tradeshows and working from home, we’re proud of our team for pushing through it all!

These are just a few of our highlights, and we’re excited about what this next year will bring!
